Harcher State League Semi-Finals continued on Wednesday night at Empire Ballpark with Tucker Smith throwing a complete game as the Braves took game one against Morley.
These two teams will meet again on Friday night while the Victoria Park Belmont and Wanneroo series continues on Thursday night at 7pm.

Both teams were strong on the mound as Braves defeated Morley Eagles 2-1 on Wednesday night. Tucker Smith started the game for Braves and recorded 27 outs.Braves didn’t take the lead until later in the game. It was tied at one in the bottom of the eighth when Matt Kennelly singled, scoring one run.A solo home run to right field by Sam Abbott put Morley on the board in the top of the third.Jack Rigden singled, which helped Braves tie the game at one in the bottom of the fourth.
Smith earned the win for Braves. He gave up two hits and one run over nine innings, striking out seven and walking none.
Troy Cruz took the loss for Morley. The starter went eight innings, allowing two runs (one earned) on eight hits, striking out seven and walking two.
Kennelly went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Braves in hits. Tim Kennelly collected two hits for Braves in four at-bats.
The winning defense turned one double play in the game and didn’t make any errors. Josh Kennelly had the most chances in the field with 12.
Abbott and Mitch Power were a force together in the lineup as they each collected one hit for Morley. Abbott went 1-for-3 at the plate as the first baseman led the team with one run batted in.
